Mark Pro Team would like this game and its community to change their stance on Palestinian people. I am aware the Israel-Palestinian conflict is complex and this should be a game of connecting people in their shared love for cycling.
By not recognizing Palestinian people at all in the game, whether it is as part of the Israeli name list or a different nationality Palestine including a name list. The community takes indirectly (maybe unintended) a stance in the conflict and in my opinion shouldn't be doing that.
Cycling connects people, which starts with acknowledging their existence.
How did the IOC and UN acknowledge the Palestinian people?
Palestine is regarded as a sporting nation by IOC, which has participated as country on multiple summer olympics since 1996. Palestine is regarded as a non-member state since 2012 by the United Nations.
How do we move forward in this game?
While recognition of Palestine state might be hard from a US, Canada and EU (not counting Sweden as they recognise the state) point of view, our community doesn't need to take a stance in drawing the world map and take a stance in whether or not to acknowledge the state of Palestine. However, should take an inclusive stance in accepting Palestine as a sporting nation and acknowledge them as people.
While Mark Pro Team is happy Taiwan is being acknowledged as a sporting nation and several other nations that are regarded as controversial by a minority of the nations (and even less citizens). Mark Pro Team would like Palestine to be added as sporting nation. Let the bike be the symbol that is able to unite all people!

I'm more than a year late, but agree entirely
@Australian Warlord, so what about Canary, Balearic Islands and others administrative divisions that have their own NT in the game despite the fact they're not independent nations ? It needs clarification.
@Australian Warlord
That's why I made a clear distinction between the state of Palestina and the people of Palestina (sporting nation) as it is defined by IOC since 1996.
I would like the Palestinian people being recognised in the game.
Palestine therefore doesn't meet the basic criteria of an independent state, and thus it would be a political statement to add them currently, almost as much as adding Catalonia would be.
There is a difference between Taiwan & Palestine. Taiwan is in full control of its territory, Palestine isn't. In addition, Taiwan has a fully functioning independently operating government (even if countries prefer to suck to a dictatorship) of which an opposing nation has to fully invade if they want the territory, Palestine can't state the same.
Palestine therefore doesn't meet the basic cr
Also agree. There is a lot of countries that still lack representation in the game. One of them even already had a name database made, only Nick has forgotten to add it. So I cannot promise that, even if you ignore the political aspect, it is realistic to expect new countries to be added.
Nice Mark. Though I would never consider the fact that Palestina is not a nation in OCM now a political statement, it would be nice to add and acknowledge them.
Wholeheartedly agree!
